Terms of use

Technical aids, not certification services

These concise terms explain the scope of ProductPassKit’s free utilities and the decisions that remain the user’s responsibility.

Informational and technical use

ProductPassKit utilities are provided as technical aids for validating formats, calculating check digits, transforming representations, parsing GS1 data and generating Digital Link QR payloads. Users remain responsible for reviewing output in the context of their own systems, contracts, standards obligations and regulatory requirements.

Identifier ownership and assignment

ProductPassKit does not issue GTINs or prove that a number is licensed, assigned to a particular organization or used for a particular product. A structurally valid check digit is not evidence of ownership or authorization.

GS1 independence

ProductPassKit is an independent toolset and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by GS1. GS1 and GTIN are trademarks of GS1 AISBL. References to GS1 standards describe technical interoperability and do not imply certification.

Digital Link and QR limitations

Valid Digital Link syntax is not the same as resolver conformance. ProductPassKit does not test whether a destination implements a conformant resolver or whether its content is accurate. A generated QR code also does not prove barcode print-quality compliance; size, contrast, substrate, printing, placement and production verification must be evaluated separately.

Compliance responsibility

The tools are not legal advice, regulatory certification or a Digital Product Passport compliance service. Standards and laws can change. Users should consult current authoritative standards and qualified professional advice where a decision has legal, safety or compliance consequences.
